'Cats' to dance on Shanghai stage from August

A Chinese version of "Cats," a famous Broadway musical that has been running since 1982, will be staged in Shanghai in August.
It will be the 15th foreign language version of "Cats" and the first production of a three-year contract signed by Shanghai-based United Asia Live Entertainment and London-based Really Useful Group.
Sources said the musical is still in the casting phase.
The companies plan to bring three to five musicals to China in the future. The Chinese version of "Mamma-Mia" proved a hit last year.
