Chinese American Film Festival to be held in US

The 12th Chinese American Film Festival will be held from October 31 to November 30 in the United States, officials said today at the ongoing 2016 Shanghai International Film and TV Festival.

A program of the Shanghai International Film and TV Festival, the Chinese American Film Festival aims to promote excellent homegrown pictures to the world.

The 94-year-old performing artist Qin Yi was invited as the festival's honorary advisor.

Su Yantao, president of Chinese American Film Festival said that more than 200 screenings of Chinese and American movies will be offered in Los Angeles, San Francisco and other cities of the Unites States. Industry insiders of both countries will attend workshops and film forums seeking possibilities for cooperation.

Meanwhile, Skylimit Culture released new projects and strategies in film production, entertainment and artificial intelligence.

According to Xu Wen, CEO of Skylimit Culture, they will provide financial support for promising Chinese film makers, scriptwriters and online novelists.

Fashionable film by-products and cute robots will also be developed in local film market while a special film and TV fund of 3 billion yuan will be set up.

Kylin Pictures also released a new public project to discover young talents film directors, creative film stories and pitches in China.

The first batch of 10 diverse domestic films have been selected by the project. All made by young people with film dream, the 10 productions will receive aids in marketing, distribution and public screening.
