Classic HK film series 'A Better Tomorrow' to have new sequel
THE classic Hong Kong cop drama film series "A Better Tomorrow" will have a new sequel, officials announced today at the Shanghai World Financial Center.
The fourth installment of the series will be helmed by mainland director Ding Sheng, whose credits include "Saving Mr. Wu" and "Little Big Soldier."
The film will incorporate the stories of the former productions into its plot.
Shooting will start soon. It will be released next year.
"A Better Tomorrow" film series was a box office sensation of Hong Kong cinema since 1986.
The first two installments were directed by John Woo. Tsui Hark directed the third installment. Many film stars rose to fame from the series such as Chow Yun-fat and Leslie Cheung.
