Cooking guide highlight of book fair
A COOKING guide teaching young wives how to cook is among the major attractions today at the Shanghai Book Fair that opened today.
“The New Wife’s Private Cuisine” by Chinese writer Yi Shan combines the cooking styles of China’s Hunan Province cuisine and some Western-style flavors. The book lists some 100 dishes that can be made easily.
“Even for those who have never been able to cook before, the book can lead them to make a table of dishes easily,” Yi said in the introduction of the book.
The book also divides the various Chinese and Western dishes into steps in accord with their difficulty. Each dish can be made in five to six steps.
