Cultural center back in business
JING’AN District’s cultural center on 459 Wulumuqi Road N., reopens its doors today after a two-year renovation.
The center comprises four buildings forming a quadrangle. The seven-floor main building’s renovation is designed to create a public art place, said Song Ru, an official at the cultural center.
Musicians will present a free lunchtime concert every Friday in the hall on the ground floor. Painting, folk art and handicrafts are on display in the art exhibition hall on the third floor.
A variety of training courses are offered in classrooms on the fifth floor, covering traditional Yue opera, ballet dancing, photography and other subjects.
The district has designated 25 varieties of traditional art and customs as cultural heritage icons.
