THE 10 suburban recruitment sites for Shanghai dialect speakers would prolong their search for another month because they had few applicants, local officials said yesterday. The public recruitment drive was due to close today. In contrast, nearly 400 people rushed to the two downtown sites to take part in the program. The authorities plan to hold the first test to select pure speakers from among applicants next month.
