Dong documentary

A short documentary about China’s ancient Dong ethnic group won the Lilac Grand Jury Prize at the eighth Shanghai Student Television Festival.
The award was the highest prize in the competition.
“Ancient Ethnic of Dong” was directed by Wang Ning, a student at Tianjin Normal University, to show how traditional customs are disappearing and how people’s lives are changing in a Dong village in Guizhou Province.
The festival received about 600 short videos and 44 were nominated for 19 prizes. The event is a warm up for the Shanghai Television Festival, which runs from June 8 to 12.
