Experts gather to discuss future of amusement parks as Asian Attractions Expo kicks off
The largest Asian Attractions Expo (AAE) opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Center today, gathering domestic and overseas experts and industry professionals to discuss the trend of amusement park development in Asia.
The three-day expo displays state-of-the-art rides, virtual reality experiences, motion simulators, water attractions, skill games and advanced technologies related with amusement park facilities.
Over 10 conferences on market trends and amusement ride safety will be held during the event.
More than 8,000 industry professionals from 65 countries and regions are attracted to the expo, which is hosted by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.
"The attractions industry is thriving in Asia, with the number of theme parks, water parks, museums, resorts, and other attractions across the region increasing rapidly," said Paul Noland, the association's president and CEO.
"Sustaining this robust growth will depend upon the industry's ability to deliver new and quality experiences."
He said the development of amusement parks in China is fueled by the continuous growing family incomes and emerging middle class and Chinese people are more aware on what experience they would like to enjoy with their families.
