THE 14th Shanghai International Film Festival next month is set to feature an array of stars. According to the film festival's organizing committee, more than 400 Chinese film celebrities and 100 foreign film stars have received invitations. Foreign stars confirmed to attend include Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon and veteran American actors Matt Dillon and Willem Dafoe. A charity auction will be held with proceeds used to preserve and restore old Chinese film classics and support young Chinese film talent. The festival runs from June 11 to 19.
