'Game of Thrones' Season I and II to be aired on local channel
SHANGHAI Oriental Pearl Media Co., Ltd and Huayi Brothers Media will enhance their cooperation in copyrights, online film production, talent fostering and branding, officials said at the 22nd Shanghai Television Festival which opens today.
The festival which runs till Friday will bring a few acclaimed overseas and domestic TV productions to local TV screen.
For the first time American fantasy series "Game of Thrones" Season I and II will be aired on the local Drama Channel at 10pm from today to June 15.
A series of new win-win projects were also revealed.
Officials from Shanghai Oriental Pearl Media Co., Ltd said that a batch of original online films and series will be presented this year to support young rising film makers and actors in China.
South Korean heartthrob Song Seung-heon attended to promote the upcoming entertainment show "Yulejia." The live broadcasting program will offer fans rare opportunities to interact with their idols through mobile app.
The Shanghai-based SMG Pictures also announced today that they will collaborate with Fuji Television Network to co-produce five Chinese remakes of successful Japanese series in the following 3 years.
The first production, a remake of the popular Japanese romantic comedy series "Dating: What’s It Like To Be In Love?" will start shooting in October. Veterans from Fuji Television Network will offer technical support.
The series will also become the first installment of "Pure Love Trilogy," followed by Chinese remakes of "Operation Love" and "The Best Divorce."
