Last chances to see 'Avatar' in cinemas
MOVIE fans must say goodbye to 3D sci-fi blockbuster "Avatar" next Monday as local cinemas will remove it from screens, the Oriental Morning Post reported today.
Fans can still enjoy the IMAX version of "Avatar" which will run until Shanghai Peace Cinema closes next Wednesday for renovations, said a cinema official. The new IMAX film "Alice in Wonderland" will screen from March 26.
Fans can buy half-price tickets for this weekend's "Avatar" screenings at Shanghai Film Center, Next Age Film Art Center and Xinan Film City.
"Our market focus will shift from 3D screens to IMAX as our revenues are greater from IMAX screens," said Wu Hehu, deputy general manager of Shanghai United Circuit chain.
Tickets now are easier to buy as many people have already seen the film since it was launched two months ago.
