Love story of Jewish refugee to be filmed in Shanghai

SHANGHAI Film Corporation will cooperate with Hollywood producer Mike Medavoy and Oscar-winning director Barry Levinson on an epic love film loosely based on Chinese author Bei La's novel "The Cursed Piano."
The film, set in World War II-era Shanghai, tells the love story of a talented Jewish musician who was a refuge in China to escape the Nazi holocaust in Europe. The film shooting will start in February next year.
