Metro goes arty and historical
SHANGHAI’S first Metro Art Festival opened yesterday — marking a new cultural space for both the network and the city. The Metro operator will work with 10 institutions including Shanghai Museum to enrich the cultural environment on the network.
Two Metro trains on Line 1 and Line 4 — one themed as a moving Shanghai Museum and the other as the birthplace of the Communist Party of China — were also launched yesterday.
Pictures of buildings that played a key role in the Party’s founding, and iconic exhibits of Shanghai Museum, can be seen on the trains.
