Movie cashes in on Octopus Paul

THE dark-humored suspense film "The Murder of Paul the Octopus" has completed its shooting schedule in South Africa and will soon complete filming in Beijing, the movie producer said in Shanghai today.
The film, produced by China Film Group Corporation and Beijing Filmblog Media Co Ltd, will take "psychic" Octopus Paul as one of its main characters, company official Song Ping said. A Chinese octopus plays the German Paul, which predicted the winner of the World Cup.
Prediction will be the focus of the film's story, which explores how the octopus wins the ability and discusses Paul's possible fates.
Funny World Cup viewing experiences by football commentators Huang Jianxiang and Li Chengpeng will also be incorporated into the movie.
The film is slated for national release at the end of August.
