WORK has begun on the interior of the new Shanghai Natural History Museum, with school students being invited along to contribute ideas. The museum in Jing’an Sculpture Park is set to open in the second quarter of next year. Work began on the 1.3 billion yuan (US$209.7 million) museum in 2009 and its 32,200-square-meter display will feature 11,000 specimens.
