Music fest to offer 50 events in April, May
THE 30th Shanghai Spring International Music Festival will offer more than 50 performances from April 28 to May 18.
Four small, specialized festivals, three competitions and a series of public activities will be part of the event.
The festival this year will continue its focus on providing opportunities for new talents and encouraging new works, according to Wang Yiqun, an official with the Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles, one of the hosts.
A new original musical, "Lou Lan," and ballet drama "Jane Eyre" will be highlights.
Audiences also will be able to see overseas artists like Prague Symphony Orchestra, Jose Carreras and the Paris Opera House during the festival.
