THE annual Shanghai Spring International Music Festival will begin on April 28. About 35 concerts will be staged in Shanghai throughout the festival, which ends on May 20.
Commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party of China and the 100th anniversary of 1911 Revolution will be a major theme for the festival this year, according to Lu Zaiyi, president of the Shanghai Musicians Association, one of the festival's organizers. The opening ceremony is a big highlight.
