Parks to open later this summer
A total of 66 parks across the city will extend their opening hours during the summer months, local authorities said yesterday.
The total is six more than last year, and the longer hours will apply from the start of next month to the end of September, the Shanghai Greenery and Public Sanitation Bureau said.
While the longer hours are designed to allow more people to enjoy the green spaces, visitors are asked to be mindful of others and not play loud music.
The bureau also warned visitors to be wary of thieves at night, and said it will ask management officials to enhance their security measures.
Among the venues taking part are Jing’an Park and People’s Park, both of which will open until 9pm, and Fuxing Park, which will open until 8pm.
