Performers of well-received drama meet local audience

PERFORMERS of the classic drama "The Lady of the Camellias" interacted with local audience tonight in Sinan Mansion. The play presented by the famous National Theatre in Belgrade will be staged at Shanghai City Theater on July 14 to 15.

The drama tells a tragic love story between Marguerite Gautier, a courtesan suffering from consumption, and Armand Duval, a young bourgeois. But the drama version is more close to the original novel. The National Theatre in Belgrade is one of the most significant institutions in Serbia. It is also the first time the troupe stages the drama of "The Lady of the Camellias" in China.

Local enthusiasts also performed small excerpts of the play during the meeting. The drama will also kick off the drama performing season of Shanghai City Theater. An array of productions from all over the world will be staged.
