Shanghai Disney float for city鈥檚 tourism parade

SHANGHAI Disney Resort yesterday revealed its design for the float for the Shanghai Tourism Festival parade on September 13.
The centerpiece of the float is a shimmering Disney castle and it will also include a Chinese paper-cut “ribbon” embedded with Mickey Mouse patterns. The brightly colored “Happy Dream” float will mark Shanghai Disney’s first appearance at the annual tourism festival.
The Disney Resort float is among the 22 floats that will parade down Huaihai Road. Shanghai Wild Animal Zoo, Shanghai Happy Valley and Macau, Suzhou and Sichuan Province tourism bodies will have floats during the parade.
Thirty-two troupes — with 24 from 16 overseas countries and regions including the United States, Italy and Chile — will bring exotic performers at the parade. This year’s parade will boast more than a record 1,400 performers.
Shanghai Disney said its float will feature dancers who will perform to the Mandarin version of the classic “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes.”
