Shanghai Film Festival opens platform to sell film by-products very first time
THE 19th Shanghai International Film Festival, which runs from June 11 to 19, will launch a special platform to sell by-products, officials said today.
It is the first time the film festival extends its service to by-products in its 23-year history.
Officials said that currently domestic films mainly make profits from box office revenues and product placement, yet by-products also have huge market potentials.
The festival authority will develop a series of creative by-products. The items can be purchased on the platform suning website.
The Qu Guangci Sculpture Studio will cooperate with the festival to design and produce artistic cups for films and umbrellas related to the film themes.
Celebrated director Tim Burton will design T-shirts for the festival's volunteers. The local Shanghai M&G Stationery Inc will also offer tailor-made pockets for the movie buffs.
