Singers for the big countdown

SHANGHAI New Year’s Eve Countdown Party to see in 2017 will be held at Xintiandi’s Taipinghu Park, officials said.
Hong Kong pop singer Leo Ku, Taiwan singer Lala Hsu and local singer and actress Huang Ling will perform and count down to the New Year.
The stage for the party will be set on Taipinghu Lake. Giant LED screens will be used to create “dreamlike lighting” and special effects. Star-shaped lights on the lake will depict a shining magnolia, the city flower of Shanghai.
Zhang Liangjun, an organizer of the show, said that party numbers would be restricted to 4,850.
No official celebrations on New Year’s Eve will be held this year on the Bund.
