Theme of 'Social Factory' announced for this year's Biennale art event

THE 2014 Shanghai Biennale, which will open November 22 at the Power Station of Art, announced today that this year's theme will be "Social Factory."
According to Anselm Franke, curator of the biennale, the theme serves as a background for several pertinent questions, such as: What kind of world are we producing? What are we destroying at the same time?
Franke and his team try to bring an exhibition with diverse forms of cultural production to expand the reach of contemporary art, from popular images via music to documentary film.
