Upcoming Dragon Boat Festival fun

TO celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival tomorrow, Shanghai Mass Art Center will present visitors interactive theme exhibition, traditional Chinese costume showcase, public lecture and creative bazaar.

In addition to dragon boat racing and eating zongzi (pyramid-shaped glutinous rice wrapped in reed or bamboo leaves), the celebration will also provide visitors knowledge about the festival's other folk customs which are unknown to many young people.

Experts say that drinking a cup of green tea or giving tea to friends as present is also a custom of the festival which has a long history of more than 2,000 years to commemorate the patriotic ancient Chinese poet Qu Yuan.

Visitors will learn more about tea culture and attend tea tasting party tomorrow.
