Checks give most public venues the all-clear

The Shanghai Health Supervision Agency said it checked air quality in 69 stores over 3,000 square meters this year and all met the standard for PM10, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and bacterial counts, while 0.3 percent failed to pass the formaldehyde checks.

The supervision agency also tested 35 cinemas this year and all passed for PM10, bacterial counts and formaldehyde, it said yesterday.

It said air quality was always an important component of health checks at public venues.
