City to struggle with poor air quality
SHANGHAI Environmental Monitoring Center said yesterday that the city will continue to struggle with pollution today as the temperatures are set to rise.
Light smog raised the city’s pollution level to “lightly polluted” yesterday with the air quality index climbing to 144 at 9pm. The AQI mainly stayed above 100 during the daytime and increased in the evening. The concentration of PM2.5 hit 110 micrograms per cubic meter at 9pm. There will be relief from the poor air condition late today when air quality level returns to the “good” tier.
