Flowering tree

SHANGHAI Botanical Garden has learned how to cultivate theaceae, a highly endangered flowering tree unique to China. Visitors will be able to see about 50 of the plants soon, garden officials said yesterday.

Theaceae, or camellia azalea, was first found in 1985 in Guangdong Province. There are only about 800 wild theaceae trees in the country now.
