Go green for free gifts

PEOPLE who participate in the city’s garbage sorting plan can from today claim free gifts distributed via WeChat. The scheme aims to encourage locals to sort their trash into different categories, the Shanghai Greenery and Public Sanitation Bureau said yesterday, World Environment Day. Residents can apply for a green account card at their neighborhood committee and start saving points to get free milk, cellphone cards and tickets to tourist attractions, it said.
