PM2.5 monitoring
Shanghai's environmental authority said yesterday that it had started to install seven additional PM2.5 air-monitoring stations across the city beyond the current two on trial in the Pudong New Area and Putuo District. Although the exact locations of the seven stations were not disclosed, the authority said they will be in crowded areas across the city without sheltering to ensure the authenticity of the data. Shanghai is expected to launch the official real-time PM2.5 results in June.
