'Pure' Speakers Wanted

THE city's plan to recruit "pure" Shanghai dialect speakers has stumbled due to a lack of qualified candidates.
The city now plans to enlarge the search with the help of the media.
Only two of 13 recruitment sites have found ideal candidates. The plan is to record pure Shanghai dialect to be used for research, preservation and promotion activities.
