Salt Tide Back Tomorrow
A salt tide is set to affect Shanghai again tomorrow, polluting the city's water resource at the mouth of the Yangtze River, the city water authority said yesterday.
The eighth salt tide since winter could last about six days and its impact should be less than the previous one, said Shanghai Water Bureau officials. The tide should mainly affect the Chenhang Reservoir in Baoshan District but since the Qingcaosha Reservoir came on tap last year, Shanghai is less vulnerable, said Zhao Pingwei, deputy director of the city water supply center.
