Salt threat gone
THE salt tide which threatened the city's water quality for more than nine days is gone, said the Shanghai water authority yesterday. The tide was ebbing late Thursday afternoon and was completely gone from the mouth of Yangtze River yesterday, officials said. Salt density in water experienced a sharp decrease from 563mpl to less than 250mpl, recognized as unpolluted by the water authority.
