Tighter inspections in Shanghai
SHANGHAI authorities are to tighten inspection on smoking in public places this year.
The Office of Shanghai Patriotic Health Campaign Commission, the major smoking control body in the city, is to carry out supervision at schools, government facilities, entertainment venues and restaurants, the office's Tang Qiong said yesterday.
The city introduced a smoking control law last March, imposing bans at 12 kinds of facilities, including kindergartens, children's activity centers and maternity and children's hospitals.
