Deportees held for second time
TWO foreigners who were deported for using counterfeit money in 2007 have fallen foul of the law again -- this time for overstaying their visas.
Police also found that the two men had counterfeit US dollars in their possession. The men, both from an unnamed Middle East country, had changed their names and obtained new passports before entering China after they were kicked out previously. But fearful of their fake identities being discovered, they decided not to renew their visas. One of the men has again been deported while the other is being held subject to an ongoing investigation. By the time police caught up with them last month, they had overstayed their visa by more than 200 days.
