Naughty daddy fined

A LOCAL man has been fined for asking his daughter to deface his passport so that local customs officials would not find out he had overstayed his visa in the United States.
The man, surnamed Wang, asked his 6-year-old daughter to draw on his passport in a bid to escape punishment, the Pudong Entry-Exit Frontier Inspection Station said yesterday. One page of Wang’s passport was found to contain several pictures drawn by a child. Wang said they were the work of his daughter. Officials thought Wang was lying, however, as the drawings obliterated a date stamp on his passport. They then realized he had probably done something wrong and decided to fine him. They accused him also of causing an international incident by cheating the US authorities.
