10 city hospitals named as public charity bases

TEN local hospitals were named as public charity bases by the authority yesterday as the major facility to further regulate and promote social worker and charity service. So far, over 160 local medical facilities have started to offer social workers who volunteer to support medical staff and better serve the patients.
Changzheng Hospital, one of the ten hospitals, will publish a Chinese Medical Social Workers’ Journal to guide social worker performance and research in the nation.
Shanghai kicked off the scheme of public charity base this year and planned to set up at least 10,000 such bases by 2020 to promote charity service in the city.
