DOCTORS at Xinhua Hospital have removed a 20-centimeter parasite from the brain of an 11-year-old boy. The boy, from Jiangxi Province, began to have headaches three weeks ago. A brain tumor was suspected but tests revealed the parasite. Doctors said the parents told them the boy liked to drink water from a stream and this may be how the parasite entered his body.
