Bureau checks kids' eyesight

THE Shanghai Health Bureau has tested and recorded the eyesight of 25,000 students in six districts, the bureau announced yesterday on the eve of National Eye Care Day.
Local optical hospital staff will visit communities and schools to test eyesight and give education in eye disease prevention and treatment. About 50.2 percent of local primary and middle school students have eyesight problem, mostly myopia.
