City reports fifth swine flu death
A 57-year-old man who died this morning is the fifth victim of H1N1 flu in Shanghai, city health authorities said today.
The unnamed man died in hospital at dawn after his condition deteriorated suddenly.
He was confirmed to have H1N1 flu on November 28 when he was admitted with serious pneumonia.
The health authority said swine flu in the city is still under control. By today, there were 2,539 registered H1N1 cases in Shanghai. Thirty-seven of the 73 seriously ill patients have been discharged after recovery.
