XINHUA Hospital and Jiao Tong University's medical school jointly set up the city's first molecular biology laboratory on deafness to detect and intervene in a fetus's deafness. Based on DNA technology, scientists can screen deafness-related genes from the fetuses of families with a history of deafness.
