CASES of major infectious diseases in the city are at levels similar to a year ago, said Shanghai Health Bureau yesterday. And the incidence of other infectious diseases - classified as C-level diseases - such as bacterial dysentery, hand, foot and mouth disease are much lower than the same time last year. By May 2010, the city reported 18,235 cases, more than double the previous year's total. The bureau has not released figures for 2011.
