THE Punan Hospital, Pudong New Area People's Hospital and Shanghai No.7 People's Hospital in Pudong said yesterday that they received 52 patients with dog bites during the Lantern Festival on Thursday. Punan Hospital received 540 patients with dog bites during the Spring Festival, mainly due to people playing with dogs and the animals being irritated by noisy firecrackers. People bitten are required to go to hospital for anti-rabies treatment.
