Family Doctors For Locals

SHANGHAI residents should soon be able to visit family doctors as part of a community-based health care initiative included in the city's health reform program. This will free up top-tier hospitals and experts from treating minor and common diseases, easing the city's shortage of medical resources.
Meanwhile, doctors' salaries will no longer be linked to the quantity and price of drugs they prescribe or tests they run. This is to stop unnecessary and expensive treatments.
