Free health exams given to 72,000 migrant women in past 5 years

A TOTAL of 72,190 migrant women received free gynecological exams in the past five years thanks to a program launched by Chinese People's Liberation Army No. 411 Hospital and the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions.

Cancer was detected in nine cases and 14 others were found to have precancerous changes as a result of the exams.

Migrant women in Shanghai can make appointments for the free checkups with the 2014 program kicking off this week, officials said.

Education and checkup reservations are available on WeChat this year for individual migrant woman to make personal appointments.

Personal appointments also can be made by calling 65876866, while small enterprises without labor unions can make group reservation by calling 56668280.
