Hospitals prepare

SHANGHAI’S health authority has designated two hospitals for the treatment of people with MERS.
Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center will deal with adult patients, while the Children’s Hospital of Fudan University will treat youngsters, the Shanghai Health and Family Planning Commission said yesterday.
The two facilities are already registered for the handling of other serious infectious diseases, such as swine flu and bird flu.
Any hospital or clinic that identifies a MERS patient or suspected patient should send them to one of the two hospitals for treatment, it said.
