LOCAL health authorities shut 2,803 illegal medical clinics and imposed fines of 4.99 million yuan (US$757,913) last year. A total of 70 cases have been passed to the police.
Twenty websites were closed down for illegally running medical advertisements and 37 local hospitals were fined and punished for producing illegal advertisements.
