THE city's first peritoneal dialysis center providing kidney failure patients with combined traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine treatment was set up at Longhua Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. About 9.3 percent of Chinese adults suffer chronic kidney disease and 1 percent of these patients will develop into kidney failure needing organ transplant or dialysis.
