A HOSPITAL in Minhang District has been ruled to pay 350,000 yuan (US$53,191) in compensation for piercing a patient's kidney while carrying out laser surgery, the Minhang District People's Court said yesterday.
The patient, surnamed Liu from Hunan Province, received damage to his kidney and ureter during treatment for kidney stones in 2009.
