Over 64 percent of patients at OTS suffer from cervical vertebra problems
ALMOST 64.52 percent of patients at out-patient service at hospitals were found to have cervical vertebra problems.
Most of them were related to long-time neck bending and working in front of desks.
Women had higher incidence of the problem than male. People between 30 and 65 years of age were the main patients.
“Those with unhealthy habits like binge-gaming on smartphone and watching TV or reading in bed are more likely to suffer stiff neck and cervical vertebra diseases,” said Dr Yang Tieyi, director of Gongli Hospital’s orthopedics department.
“Symptoms include neck and shoulder pain, nausea and numbness of hand sometimes. Change of unhealthy habits is very important for neck health,” Dr Yang said.
