Pill mix-up appeal
Longhua Hospital said yesterday that 25 patients have yet to get in touch to check whether they were given the wrong traditional Chinese medicine prescription due to a labeling mix-up. The TCM center in Xuhui District said 113 patients were given the Chuanlian Liqi pills at the center of the mix-up between October 8 and 18. By Wednesday, it had made contact with 88 patients, — 43 of whom were found to have been given the wrong prescription. None had shown symptoms of adverse reactions, said officials. Both medicines involved in the mix-up are prescribed to cancer patients following chemotherapy.
